Whether you need some guidance for your healthy pet or you are worried about a new problem, ZipVet is here to help. We can come to you and perform a full clinical examination, a range of diagnostic tests and give medications as needed. This includes pets with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hyperthyroidism or arthritis. We want to get to know your pet and their conditions so we can provide the best possible care.
-
We are becoming increasingly aware of the impact blanket use of anti-parasitics is having on parasite resistance and on the environment. Faecal worm egg counts can tell you if you need to worm and if your worming regime is working. We recommend doing this every 3 months (or every 2 months in at risk pets). If your results indicate your pet needs worming, we will provide a written prescription free of charge.
ZipVet also offers vaccine titre testing for dogs (distemper, hepatitis and parvovirus) and cats (panleukopenia) to find out if your pet needs a booster vaccination. This is recommended annually. If your antibody titres are low and your pet needs a booster, we offer this at the discounted rate. We are not able to titre test for leptospirosis, so an annual booster for this is always recommended.
We can also check your pets microbiome - this is the mini-ecosystem of microbes in the gut. Imbalances in the microbiome can lead to skin, digestive and immune system problems. There is also emerging evidence that this can also affect weight and behaviour. Microbiome testing provides insights into your pet’s gut health, allowing us to problem solve and make dietary recommendations. Enquire for more info and prices.

We want to make the hardest part of pet ownership a little bit easier. We offer palliative care advice and support, with honest and empathetic guidance on when is the right time to say goodbye. When it is time, we’ll come to you and provide a kind and peaceful euthanasia for your beloved pet, tailored to you and your pets needs. We’ll ensure we take time beforehand to discuss the procedure in as much detail as you need and help you plan the day.
Free ink paw prints and fur clip keepsakes are provided with this service if desired.
Further information and prices below. We aim to be as transparent as possible about our pricing and charge for professional time over drug mark-ups.
